Brooch Silver, gold, dyed silk pods 4 x 6 x 2.2cm 2010
The lacquer in this piece is covering a disposable paper plate that has been trisected. The silver construction is to give the individual dishes a unifying structure.
This seemingly delicate handle is quite sturdy.
The square rod in this handle was forged from the initial rectangular configuration to a square at the bowl end, and flat for the handle. Where the rods separated during the forming process add to the process aesthetic.
This strainer is composed of fused round wire in the handle, that has been planished for structure and aesthetics. The pierced sheet bowl was soldered into place.
